Job Title: AZ Operator, Emergency Response

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AZ Operator to join our Emergency Response division in Moose Creek, ON. As an AZ Operator, you will play a critical role in transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from customer sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport and handle hazardous waste materials
  • Operate a variety of trucks and equipment, including vacuum trucks and box trucks
  • Respond to environmental and industrial spills, clandestine laboratory decommissioning, highway incidents, and other emergency situations
  • Collaborate with police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders to ensure effective response and resolution
  • Participate in job-specific and health & safety training as required
  • Perform work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to organizational policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High School diploma minimum
  • Certification from a recognized Truck Driving School
  • Valid Commercial AZ License
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends and on-call shifts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift 75+ lbs
