We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director to lead our Indigenous Health Services team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our Indigenous Health programs and services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the Indigenous Health Services Plan for Fraser Health, in collaboration with our medical leadership and external partners.
- Provide leadership to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic plans that enable the organization to meet Indigenous health needs.
- Oversee the integration and coordination of programs and services to create a comprehensive service delivery system designed to meet the Indigenous health status and healthcare needs of our population.
- Establish linkages with other project and clinical initiatives at system and site levels across Fraser Health.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to develop, manage, and evaluate programs and services, considering client needs, service delivery interrelationships, and service potential within a complex environment.
- Provide leadership and direction on strategies, planning, design, implementation, delivery, and assessment of clinical services, including primary care sites, home support programs, and elders activity programs and services.
- Negotiate, facilitate, build consensus, and effectively collaborate to build relationships that promote the achievement of cooperative goals and contribute to an atmosphere of mutual respect.
- Develop program budgets and allocate funds within the budget to accomplish objectives, and monitor variance against budget.
- Provide overall leadership and direction to team members using effective management techniques, such as coaching, mentoring, skill and leadership development, and performance management.
- Master's Degree in a field related to healthcare management, supplemented by a minimum ten years' experience in progressively senior leadership roles, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in the provision of community-based healthcare delivery systems and experience interacting with Indigenous people and Indigenous leadership, as well as government agencies and provincial ministries.
- Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring, and Courageous, and creates the conditions for people to succeed.
- Professional/Technical Capabilities: Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous healthcare needs, services, and issues, as well as knowledge of the culture, protocol, and traditions of Indigenous people to ensure respect, diplomacy, and tact to honour established and new relationships as a representative of the health authority.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of community-based services, such as community health centres, Indigenous service providers, and traditional healers.
- Demonstrated expertise with high-level policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of quantitative and qualitative population analysis to develop constructive reports based on results and findings.
- Sound working knowledge of planning concepts related to service delivery, budgetary, staffing, quality, and strategic initiatives.
- Proven presentation skills within a senior leadership capacity.
