Job Title: Senior Energy Markets Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Markets Analyst to join our team at Cpus Engineering Staffing Solutions Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the development and implementation of business processes and systems for energy market settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and modification of business processes and systems for energy market settlements.
  • Verify and reconcile daily payment transactions in interconnected and Ontario wholesale and retail markets.
  • Provide expert advice on settlement processes in the competitive electricity market.
  • Review and ensure compliance of business processes with market rules and regulations.
  • Stay current on market rules evolution and revise settlement processes as necessary.
  • Provide on-going reconciliation and verification expertise for energy markets revenue streams.
  • Ensure all invoices are forwarded to accounts payable and accounts receivable and that funds are transferred.
  • Make qualitative and comparative assessments of energy markets performance.
  • Contribute to the development of contracts and agreements with customers and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Requires a knowledge of business administration, commerce, economics, science or engineering with business courses to demonstrate and apply sound analytical thinking skills.
  • Requires a knowledge of accounting principles and practices to reconcile daily payment transactions.
  • Requires a good knowledge of oral and written English to ensure effective communication skills.
  • Requires experience in energy markets function or with financial market products and services.
  • Requires experience in systems associated with energy market settlements and energy market operations.
