**Job Summary**

We are seeking a seasoned commercial real estate and financing lawyer to join our exceptional team as Director, Investments and Legal Counsel. Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will work closely with key business groups across the organization, with a primary emphasis on commercial real estate transactions and financings in Canada and internationally.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide transactional legal support for our global real estate investments, including acquisitions and dispositions, financings, and joint venture arrangements.
  • Provide pragmatic and proactive advice on a variety of legal matters.
  • Work closely with business teams, including corporate investment and corporate finance, to provide strategic business and legal advice.
  • Manage external counsel and other professional advisors on legal and related business matters.

**Requirements**

  • 6+ years of experience in commercial real estate and commercial financing gained in a law firm and/or in-house environment (experience in leasing is an asset).
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead transactions and projects.
  • Adaptable and practical with sound commercial and business acumen.
