Position Overview
The Validation and Verification Engineer will report directly to the MEP Manager and will be tasked with a variety of critical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of design submissions, including interface documents, briefing papers, site instructions, test plans, and procedures, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Evaluate test and commissioning schedules, programs, submissions, and reports to ensure compliance and readiness.
- Assist in the Safety Certification program to uphold safety standards.
- Engage in HMKE activities, which include drafting and reviewing variations and related reports.
- Participate in site visits and system demonstrations, providing insightful observations and recommendations.
- Develop or assess Systems Engineering Management plans, encompassing the Requirements Management Plan, V&V Management Plan, System Quality Assurance Plan, and Configuration Management Plan.
- Examine Verification and Validation evidence to ensure it meets specified requirements and standards.
- Analyze derived requirements, particularly focusing on safety and security aspects.
- Perform thorough requirements analysis to identify any gaps, redundancies, or contradictions.
- Generate periodic reports detailing the progress of V&V activities.
- Compile weekly or monthly status and engineering reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the design team to implement a robust stage-gate systems engineering process throughout the design phase.
- Interface with subcontractors, stakeholders, and internal teams on various design-related activities and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering, requirements management, and validation/verification.
- In-depth knowledge of formal systems engineering practices and requirements development, particularly in D&B Railway, subway, or LRT projects.
- Familiarity with project management processes, excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to formulate and implement Systems Engineering plans and processes, ensuring project teams adhere to these frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
- Experience in managing relationships with subcontractors and clients.
