Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Solutions Developer to join our team at Sagen. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable and reliable software engineering solutions in a time-bound agile manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Software Solutions: Participate in and support the development of Sagen's modernization strategy and implementation, including replacement or modernization of core systems with emphasis on simplicity and supportability.
  • Deliver High-Quality Software Projects: Deliver software development projects according to the scope, schedule, quality, performance, and scalability expectations.
  • Design and Develop Applications: Participate in both the design and development of brand-new applications/microservices as well as the enhancement/re-architecture of existing components.
  • Participate in the SDLC: Participate in all stages of the SDLC within a Scaled Agile environment.
  • Reverse Engineer and Modernize Applications: Reverse engineer existing applications, supporting their re-design and modernization.
  • Enhance Existing Components: Enhance existing components to satisfy new performance and scalability requirements.
  • Secure Development Practices: Participate in secure development practices for all new development and in security remediation projects for legacy code as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of science degree in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally building large scale systems.
  • Cross-Functional Knowledge: Possess cross-functional knowledge and the drive to dive into the details of how each business unit works.
  • Technical Skills: Experience building applications with web, mobile, or enterprise technology stack is a must. 2+ years of excellent skills in Java (1.5 to latest version), Spring & Spring boot frameworks, JPA & Hibernate technologies, SOAP & REST APIs, Apache Camel, IBM MQs is required. 2+ years of coding with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL; strong skills in querying, SQL scripting with Oracle database is required.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to transform business requirements into technical tasks, implement them and document the solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills enabling the exchange of complex information with a non-technical audience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Scrum Master certified, hands on experience with front end technologies including HTML, CSS, Angular, Node, NPM, Typescript, Bootstrap frameworks, hands on experience with Python or R language and data modelling, hands on experience with NoSQL databases, hands on experience with any cloud technologies, preferably with AWS & Azure, hands on experience with Okta, hands on experience with Jira, Confluence.
