WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Under the general guidance of the Chef Manager, the Afternoon Culinary Specialist plays a vital role in meal preparation and daily specials for café dining and catering functions. This position involves training team members in culinary best practices, engaging in cost management strategies, and delivering exceptional service to customers, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team by assigning tasks, providing coaching, and ensuring adherence to best practices while offering additional support as needed.
  • Maintaining high levels of product quality and customer satisfaction, contributing to a productive work environment that fosters learning and team success.
  • Assisting in cost control measures by:
    • Effectively managing inventory levels.
    • Ensuring proper food rotation in storage to minimize spoilage and waste (First in, First out).
    • Adhering to portion control standards to guarantee recipe yields align with budget expectations.
    • Proposing menu items that utilize seasonal ingredients.
    • Organizing workstations to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Qualifications

WHO IS A GOOD FIT?

  • Experience in the healthcare or culinary field.
  • Proven cooking experience.
  • A clear criminal background check is mandatory for this position.
  • Availability to work during the afternoon shift.
