Responsibilities
  • Administer various massage techniques, including soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, and joint mobilizations, to alleviate pain and discomfort.
  • Apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body to promote relaxation and reduce muscle tension.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, explaining procedures, risks, and benefits, and providing personalized care and attention.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments given, including client information, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending workshops and conferences as needed.
Requirements
  • Certification by a provincial or territorial association for massage therapists.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Accurate and efficient in maintaining records and providing care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
