Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Fortis Construction Group Inc. as a key member of our estimating department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects. This will involve reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, as well as preparing pre-qualification submissions and estimate reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare pre-qualification submissions and estimate reports
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in estimating or a related field
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
