Operations Supervisor

FortisBC is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee our Fraser Valley region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of unionized employees to meet daily requirements, commitments, and projects. Your expertise in natural gas infrastructure and safety-focused mindset will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our assets and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of unionized employees to meet daily requirements, commitments, and projects.
- Familiarize yourself with software and applications used to schedule and complete deliverables on time and within budget.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels in collaboration with internal resources.
- Manage contracted services in accordance with established terms and conditions.
- Participate in the recruitment process and select new employees to the team.
- Coach, mentor, and support your team to support performance, quality of work, and ongoing training and development of staff.
- Utilize your field experience and technical knowledge to solve work-related problems and collaborate with others.
- Travel to work sites to provide quality oversight and maintain compliance with work and industry standards.
- Maintain an inclusive, safe, and healthy workplace for your team and others.
- Five years of management experience with a focus on natural gas infrastructure.
- Previous experience in construction, underground utilities, and emergency response is an asset.
- A passion for developing quality solutions with a safety-focused mindset.
- A collaborative and inclusive approach to strengthening connections in the workplace.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite such as Word, Excel, etc.
