Food Service Manager

Morgan's Community Care Home is seeking a skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and Coordinate Staff: Lead a team of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that meals are served efficiently and to a high standard.
- Train and Develop Staff: Provide training and guidance to staff on job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Inventory Management: Estimate and manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet our culinary needs.
- Quality Control: Ensure that food and service meet our high standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for future planning and decision-making.
- Communication: Prepare food order summaries for our chef, ensuring that our culinary team is well-informed and prepared for meal service.
- Assembly and Presentation: Supervise and check the assembly of trays, ensuring that meals are presented in a visually appealing and appetizing manner.
- Scheduling: Establish work schedules for our culinary team, ensuring that we have the necessary staff to meet our operational needs.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Standing and Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods, with physical demands associated with food preparation and service.
- Attention to Detail: Maintaining attention to detail in a busy kitchen environment.
- Repetitive Tasks: Performing repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Client Focus: Providing excellent service to our residents and staff, with a focus on meeting their needs and exceeding their expectations.
- Team Player: Working collaboratively with our culinary team to achieve our goals and objectives.
- Initiative: Taking initiative to identify and address opportunities for improvement, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
