Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physical Therapy Assistant

Shannex Incorporated is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at the new Transitional Care Centre in West Bedford, Nova Scotia.
About the Role:We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide high-quality care and support to our residents. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote independence, mobility, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and administer individual and group physical therapy sessions
- Assist residents with therapeutic intervention programs, such as range of motion, progressive resistive, and stretching exercises
- Document resident progress and respond to changes in their condition
- Maintain equipment inventory and assist with department audits, cleaning, and inspections
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma from an approved college or a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology
- U-first training or a Dementia Care Course would be considered an asset
- Previous experience working in a long-term care environment would also be considered an asset
