Job Title: Support Staff - Education Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Support Staff - Education Assistant to join our team at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division. As an Education Assistant, you will provide support to students with various degrees of need in the learning environment, under the direction and supervision of the inclusive education liaison, the classroom teacher, and the principal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to students with special programming needs in the learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the inclusive education liaison, classroom teacher, and principal to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students with academic tasks, such as homework and reading.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of student support plans.

Requirements:

  • Education Assistant Certificate and/or Diploma or Rehabilitation Practitioner Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year experience working with students with special programming needs.
  • First Aid Training.
  • Supporting Individuals Through Valued Attachments Training (SIVA) Certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively as part of a team.
