Job OverviewThe Head of Blockchain Engineering will spearhead the design and execution of blockchain technologies within Bjak's platform. This position is accountable for fostering innovation, ensuring the security and scalability of blockchain applications, and aligning technological initiatives with Bjak's mission of enhancing access to financial services. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of blockchain technology, substantial experience in software engineering, and a proven history of leadership in a dynamic, innovative setting.
Key Responsibilities- Blockchain Strategy & Development: Formulate and execute a holistic blockchain strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives and technological progress. Supervise the architecture, design, and development of blockchain-based solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Guide a team of blockchain engineers, offering mentorship, and nurturing a collaborative and innovative team environment. Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
- Security & Compliance: Guarantee the security and integrity of blockchain applications, including smart contracts and distributed ledger technologies. Collaborate with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure all blockchain solutions adhere to industry standards and regulations.
- Innovation & Research: Remain informed about the latest trends and advancements in blockchain technology. Identify opportunities for innovation and enhancement within the company's blockchain initiatives.
- Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to integrate blockchain technology with existing systems and platforms. Ensure seamless interoperability between blockchain components and other technological infrastructures.
- Performance & Scalability: Enhance blockchain solutions for performance and scalability to accommodate increasing user demands. Monitor system performance and implement improvements as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 5 years concentrated on blockchain technology.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing engineering teams in a high-growth, innovative environment.
- Strong grasp of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, cryptography, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with various blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger, Corda) and development tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think strategically and creatively.
