We are seeking highly qualified and dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team at Grande Yellowhead Public School Division No. 77. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a quality education to students in the absence of their regular teacher.

• Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for students
• Promote continued learning and academic growth
• Follow lesson plans created by the regular teacher or develop your own plans in accordance with Alberta Education Programs of Study
• Ensure the classroom runs smoothly and efficiently
• Communicate effectively with the absent teacher, school principal, and other staff members
• Adhere to the same roles and responsibilities as regular classroom teachers, as defined by the Education Act and the Teaching Profession Act
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

• Bachelor of Education degree
• Valid Alberta Teaching License
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to work in a multi-grade classroom (considered an asset)

• Competitive daily rate of $212 per day and $106 per half day
• Eligibility for up to $2,500 per year for professional development
