About the Role

We are seeking an Apprentice Electrician to join our team at K-Jay Electric Ltd. As an Apprentice Electrician, you will assist experienced electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Assist in the installation of electrical controls and panel boxes, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the integrity of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and repair electrical issues, including splicing, joining, and connecting wires, and testing and measuring voltage, loads, and ground faults.
  • Renovation and Upgrade: Assist in renovating electrical systems in residential and commercial structures, including reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Equipment and Machinery: Operate conventional electrical devices and hand tools, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the electrical trade.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Physical Demands: Fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, and tight deadlines.
