Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Delivery Lead to join our Global Wealth Management Technology team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of business value to our customers through the design and development of digital applications for wealth and brokerage customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Agile Methodologies and Team Leadership
    • Work with cross-functional teams to identify roadmap/feature dependencies and impediments, and be accountable for tracking and removing them to enable the team.
    • Guide and coach the team to follow agile practices, including Lean principles, backlog tracking, and Scrum/Kanban metrics.
    • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution, building a trusting and safe environment for team members.
  • Project Management and Risk Mitigation
    • Assist in the identification and mitigation of project risks, using Agile best practices to proactively identify and address potential issues.
    • Forecast the number of deliverables based on evidence and reliable sources, and create useful, reliable, and practical plans for software development projects.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Provide regular, standardized reporting for team performance, including velocity, stories completed, and project status.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Finance, to ensure alignment of budgets, spend, and forecasts.
  • Operational Readiness and Release Management
    • Coordinate operational readiness activities with associated teams, including security, infrastructure, and network teams.
    • Oversee and coordinate software release activities, ensuring timely and successful delivery of software releases.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
    • 5 years of Scrum Master experience and/or leading large cross-functional/cross-regional teams on major organizational projects.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Knowledge of Lean, eliminating waste, focusing on value delivery, small batch production, and frequent delivery of working software.
    • Understanding of backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban based metrics, task definition, and story splitting.
    • Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques, including Automated Testing, User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Testing, etc.
    • Good working knowledge of software development processes and procedures.
    • Familiarity with common development practices, service-oriented environments, and Agile practices.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with team members and stakeholders.
