Position Summary

The Project Financial Manager role is pivotal in ensuring precise financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and maintaining compliance with contractual obligations for designated Client Projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee comprehensive accounting and financial documentation for assigned Client Projects, including:
    • Analyzing financial data and identifying budget discrepancies
    • Generating GAAP-compliant financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including consolidated reports when necessary
    • Preparing financial statements for audit purposes for review by stakeholders and external auditors
    • Creating monthly cash flow and GAAP forecasts
    • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
    • Assisting in the formulation of annual budgets
    • Preparing board presentation materials for owners
    • Supporting owners in securing refinancing and new financing options
    • Managing cash flow activities, including overseeing accounts payable processes
    • Maintaining organized workpapers for all balance sheet and selected income statement accounts
    • Understanding and applying derivative accounting as necessary
    • Monitoring the adherence to accounting control measures
    • Ensuring compliance with Project Contract stipulations
    • Reviewing and interpreting relevant contracts
    • Verifying compliance with financial documents, including loan covenants
    • Tracking compliance deadlines and responsibilities

Professional Interactions

The Project Financial Manager will engage professionally with:

  • Owners, Investors, and Operators
  • External CPAs for year-end financial statement preparation, audits, and tax matters
  • Financial institutions and various third-party consultants
  • Company executives, Asset Managers, and administrative personnel

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Project Accounting Manager.

Compensation Package

The compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or a related field
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented with strong decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings
  • Experience in a professional business environment
