We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at UNIFOR CONSTRUCTION INC.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare building layouts in accordance with local building codes, utilizing measuring tools and equipment.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
- Develop and submit tenders and quotations for construction projects.
- Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, ensuring precise fit and finish.
- Coordinate and schedule work on construction sites, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Conduct site surveys and level checks to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Supervise and lead other workers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Estimate costs and materials, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
- Operate computer-aided design (CADD) software and other digital tools to support construction planning and execution.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in various settings.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a standard 35-hour workweek. The work language is English.
