Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Home Support Worker to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide basic supportive care to patients in their homes, working under the supervision of a Resource Coordinator or other designate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping
  • Transport patients and equipment as needed
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the healthcare team
Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Food Handler's Certificate may be required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in healthcare or a related field
  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs and traditions
  • Ability to speak, read, and write French
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing situations. The successful candidate will be required to travel between client homes and to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
