We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our Public Health Protection department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in reducing the incidence of communicable disease, injury, and health hazards in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct technical assessments and provide consultative and education services to the public and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health legislation, policy, and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to promote healthy environments and prevent disease.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
- Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) issued by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and possession of a personal vehicle.
- Comprehensive benefit packages including extended health/dental and a municipal pension plan.
- Four weeks vacation with one year of continuous service.
- Financial Support for Moving Expenses is available for eligible positions.
Northern Health covers an area of nearly 600,000 square kilometers and offers health services in over two dozen communities and 55 First Nation's communities. We deliver hospital and community-based health care for a population of 300,000.
