Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate special events and plan menus to ensure seamless execution
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet customer requirements
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure consistency and quality
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, and childcare
  • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees through language training, skills training, and community resource access
  • Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers and offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and maintain high standards of quality and safety
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing menu and event requirements
Work Environment

Our kitchen is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication are essential. As a Culinary Specialist, you will work closely with our kitchen staff to ensure seamless execution of events and menus.
