Position Summary
The Senior Automation Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our advanced automated systems. This position requires a blend of electrical, mechanical, and automation expertise to maintain and enhance our state-of-the-art order processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to facilitate the installation and maintenance of industrial equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of equipment tests, maintenance, and modifications using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Adhere to established maintenance and installation protocols to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
- Propose and implement enhancements to mechanical systems and procedures for improved efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on electrical and mechanical systems to ensure operational integrity.
- Install, maintain, and repair various electrical and electromechanical equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Execute preventative maintenance schedules to identify potential hazards and equipment failures.
- Diagnose and rectify issues in low voltage electrical and mechanical systems using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Provide technical assistance and support to team members during shifts.
General Duties
- Assist the Sr. Facility Maintenance Manager with various tasks as required.
- Participate in inventory audits to ensure the availability of necessary spare parts.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment defects to management promptly.
- Document equipment wear and tear to assess operational safety.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Certified Electrician (442A or 309A) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
- Hands-on experience with PLC-based machinery and control systems.
- Familiarity with various industrial equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for low voltage control and mechanical systems.
- Ability to create innovative mechanical solutions to enhance production efficiency.
- Proficient in using computers and relevant software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Working Conditions
- This position requires night shifts, specifically from Sunday to Thursday.
- Physical demands may include lifting up to 50 pounds and performing various physical tasks.
