Job Summary

As a Bus Operator with the City of Ottawa, you will play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and courteous transit services to our community. You will operate city buses in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and corporate policy, promoting a customer service mindset when interacting with the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate city buses in a safe and efficient manner
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers
  • Adhere to corporate policy and the Highway Traffic Act
  • Work collaboratively with Transit Supervisors and other City of Ottawa personnel
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Minimum of 5 years of driving experience with a clean driving record
  • Relevant customer service experience, including direct contact with the public
  • Public Urban transit experience is an asset
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of transit fares and pass structure
  • Knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act
  • Knowledge of/experience using portable communications technologies, such as 2-way radio
