Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a crew of up to five to six employees, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge, skills, training, tools, and supervision to successfully perform their duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receives dispatches and schedules work accordingly.
  • Provides leadership to direct reports; in job performance, compliance, and according to WorkSafe requirements.
  • Working alongside and leading a crew of up to five to six employees in general labour duties consisting of: traffic control, vegetation control, landscape maintenance, infrastructure maintenance, and various other labour-type projects.
  • Ensuring team members meet deadlines and productivity measures for key projects and tasks.
  • Provide training and mentorship for new and existing employees.
  • Keep team up to speed on policies and procedures, as well as Job Standards and expectations.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Completion of post-secondary diploma, or degree in business administration, or a related field is an asset.
  • Prior dispatch experience (i.e. traffic control, construction, transportation, e-comm) is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Learning agility and willing to continually learn and develop.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Recognized for positive outlook and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Demonstrates a conscientious mindset – Committed to doing the best job possible within a given deadline.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions.
  • Able to work within a team environment.
  • Strong proficiency in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Sound understanding of accounts payable cycle and basic accounting knowledge is an asset.
