Environmental Engineer

Your Role as an Environmental Engineer

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Environmental Engineer to join our team in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing Environmental Investigation, Remediation, and Risk Assessment support across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and provide operational support to junior and intermediate staff in environmental site assessments, remediation, and risk assessments, adhering to Ontario Regulation 153/04;
  • Oversee technical, scheduling, and budgetary aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with site, corporate, and regulatory standards;
  • Act as a subject matter expert in your field;
  • Prepare and analyze documentation, presentations, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Enhance knowledge through participation in technical societies and attendance at relevant programs, aligning with individual and business sector objectives;
  • Collaborate with senior team members to strengthen our brand and reputation with clients.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer designation in Ontario is mandatory;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the environmental sector in Ontario, with preference for candidates with consulting backgrounds;
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering;
  • Familiarity with provincial (Ontario Regulation 153/04, Ontario Regulation 406/19, Ontario Regulation 407/19) and federal (CCME) guidelines for contaminated site assessments;
  • Proven experience in contaminated site investigations (Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments) is essential;
  • Background in remediation and risk assessment, particularly in Risk Management Plans, is advantageous;
  • A proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-motivation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with technical writing proficiency.
