The Role:

This position requires a degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of safety, quality, and accuracy. The successful candidate will have the drive, determination, and self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet the established criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the aquaculture farm, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve farm performance and efficiency.
  • Supervise and motivate staff to create a positive and safe work environment.
  • Exercise authority to ensure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met.
  • Monitor and operate feed systems, mooring design and maintenance, and general maintenance on saltwater equipment, cages, and vessels.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in farming operations and strong supervisory and communication skills.
  • Strong abilities in fish husbandry and experience with monitoring and operating feed systems, mooring design and maintenance, and general maintenance on saltwater equipment, cages, and vessels.
  • Ability to work flexible hours outside and on the water.
  • Related post-secondary education, MED, small craft certification, and experience operating saltwater fish farms are preferred.
