We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Legal Counsel to join our team at Gibson Energy. As a key member of our Legal Department, you will provide expert legal advice and services to support the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of commercial matters, including contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks, and develop strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other business-related documents.
  • Provide support on corporate secretarial matters, including the preparation of board meeting materials and other corporate documents.
Requirements:
  • JD or LLB degree from a recognized university.
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
