Is this position a fit for you?
In this role, you will:
- Engage in daily collaboration with the front office and various business units regarding their hedging requirements. Assess eligibility, determine the relevant strategy, or establish new strategies while completing necessary documentation.
- Continuously monitor hedging relationships to ensure compliance with hedge qualification standards and maintain high effectiveness.
- Verify that all instruments within hedging relationships are active and secure monthly confirmations of hedged item existence and hedge activities from different business areas.
- Oversee the month-end closing process by reconciling, analyzing, and communicating hedge accounting results for multiple hedging units to Group Treasury and other stakeholders.
- Compile information for quarterly and annual financial disclosures, and provide support for ad-hoc analyses and financial reporting.
- Stay informed about emerging industry best practices for hedge qualification through research and thorough examination of publications from regulatory bodies and industry associations.
Do you possess the skills that will contribute to your success in this role? We would be pleased to work with you if you have:
- A self-motivated, analytical, and collaborative approach; strong problem-solving, time-management, and communication abilities.
- A solid understanding of finance and financial instruments, including various derivatives.
- A post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience. An accounting designation (CPA) or progress towards one is advantageous. A CFA designation is preferred.
- Familiarity with Peak or system trading systems, PeopleSoft EGL, OBI, Excel, and PowerPoint.
