Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Part Time Professor to join our team at Georgian College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering the Architectural Drafting 3 (ARCH 2004) course in the Architectural Technology and Architectural Technician programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver curriculum to meet course objectives
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching/learning strategies to meet student needs
  • Evaluate student learning progress/academic achievement
  • Participate in program and college activities as required
  • Participate in program revision and renewal activities as required
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment
Qualifications
  • Successfully completed a recognized bachelor's degree program in the field of architecture; postgraduate degrees are assets
  • Minimum five years of experience in design, execution, supervision, or consultancy in residential, commercial, institutional, and/or industrial architectural projects
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience in other capacities with construction engineering firms or municipal offices is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in design and development of commercial architectural projects
  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to life-long learning
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
  • Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
  • Teaching and Training Adults certification is an asset
  • Current membership or affiliation with relevant professional associations (i.e., Ontario Association of Architects) is an asset
