We are seeking a skilled Senior IT Business Systems Analyst to join our team at CB Canada.
Role Overview
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for orchestrating, managing, and guiding the execution of comprehensive system requirements and both technical and functional specifications that adhere to established standards and frameworks.
- You will provide technical guidance and collaborate closely with proactive business and technology partners, project teams, and stakeholders to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and oversee detailed functional specifications.
Meaningful contributions are supported by productive performance and career development discussions with your supervisor. Here are some of the key responsibilities: - Engage with technology partners (e.g., Solution Designers and Architects) to investigate and assess current system capabilities and propose technology solution options and recommendations.
- Define, document, and convert business requirements into comprehensive functional specifications, considering non-functional requirements.
- Assist testing teams in transforming requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected outcomes for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing.
- Contribute to project management tasks such as scoping and estimating project efforts, identifying risks and suggesting mitigation strategies, communicating activity status, and escalating potential issues.
- Participate in quality management reviews, including designs, prototypes, and other requirement deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify solutions, evaluate impacts on existing workflows and systems, and determine integration management strategies.
- Provide analytical and process-related support and insights.
- Adhere to existing processes and standards, including requirements management and project management practices, technology delivery, and business technology architecture, escalating issues as necessary.
- Enhance knowledge in your area, stay updated on technology trends and advancements, and develop expertise in banking services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques, and business domains.
- Work with vendors to assist in business case development (aligned with technology requirements and guidelines), including benefits identification, RFI/RFP processes, and service level agreements.
- Mentor new or less experienced colleagues and serve as a reference point throughout the requirements management lifecycle.
Essential Qualifications
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong commitment to applying advanced to expert knowledge of business technology delivery practices and standards, including design, development, testing, and project management.
- Advanced understanding of system analysis processes and techniques, as well as system components, functionalities, interfaces, data flows, and business rules.
- Ability to work independently as a senior or lead systems analyst and mentor or guide team members.
- Experience and comfort level acting as a subject matter expert and consultant, with the ability to manipulate complex data sets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Capital Markets.
- Background in Banking.
