Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pension Calculations Specialist to join our team at Pacific Blue Cross. As a key member of our D.A. Townley team, you will be responsible for providing complex technical analysis and pension calculations services for members of our administered pension plans. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pension administration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide complex technical analysis and pension calculations services for members of our administered pension plans.
  • Reconcile pension payments, lump sum payouts, and transfers against the custodial pension registers and financial statements.
  • Determine eligibility for transfer deficiency payments and prepare information packages for members.
  • Calculate pension adjustment (PA)/pension adjustment reversal (PAR) amounts and report to plan custodians.
  • Prepare year-end pension reconciliations and generate contributor statements of status and amounts paid into the plan.
  • Calculate annual cost of living adjustments for pensioners and forward required adjustments to the plan custodian.
  • Prepare data for tri-annual actuarial valuation and reconcile membership, hours, contributions, and pension benefits.
Requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences or an equivalent discipline.
  • 2 years of previous related experience in an actuarial or pension administration environment.
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills and critical thinking skills.
