We are currently seeking an Estimating Apprentice for our Atlantic Canada District within the Canadian Buildings Division. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry and develop essential skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Your Role:

• Assist with preparing comprehensive tender documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with trade contractors and suppliers to gather information and support bid proposals.
• Develop unit pricing strategies based on market analysis and historical data.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs from blueprints and construction plans.
• Maintain and update request for information lists, ensuring clear communication throughout the bidding process.
• Gain a deep understanding of trade scope definitions and local market conditions.
• Learn to interpret various contractual terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Your Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in civil engineering, architectural technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs and unit pricing calculations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints.
• A genuine passion for the construction industry and a desire to learn.
• Familiarity with conceptual estimating principles and practices.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets and design software.
• Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
