Plains has an immediate opening for a Facility Engineer to join the Operations Engineering Group. As a Facility Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance project delivery, and optimization activities at multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and recommend project scopes to enhance performance in reliability, safety, efficiency, and revenue;
  • Provide Engineering support to maximize benefits from process changes;
  • Offer technical support to troubleshoot and optimize operations;
  • Lead or assist in projects related to plant equipment, storage, and pipelines;
  • Assist in large expansion projects;
  • Ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Conduct economic analysis of projects;
  • Lead Process Safety evaluations;
  • Perform facility and equipment performance tests;
  • Participate in incident investigations and emergency response drills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering preferred;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Knowledge of industry codes and regulatory requirements;
  • Project management knowledge;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Safety certifications are an asset;
  • Residency within 120 KM of the facility required;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Cleared criminal history and satisfactory references;
  • Compliance with drug and alcohol policy.

Working Conditions:

  • Position based at Fort Saskatchewan facility or Buck Creek plant with travel required using a company vehicle.
