About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced cook to join our team at Indian Cuisine by the Lake. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Special Diets: Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by our dietitian or chef.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure we are operating within budget.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Event Planning: Organize buffets and banquets to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Kitchen Operations: Manage kitchen operations to ensure we are meeting our standards for quality and service.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant experience in an urban area.
  • Supervision: Cook (general) supervision.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, work under pressure.
