Job Title: Instructor - Vocational School

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructor to join our team at the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our vocational school program.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise students in work sessions and provide guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Supervise teaching assistants and provide feedback and coaching to help them develop their skills.
  • Train students in practical shop work sessions and provide hands-on instruction and feedback.
  • Prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses and ensure that they are engaging and effective.
  • Prepare, administer, and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress and provide feedback.
  • Prepare reports and provide regular updates to management on student progress and program effectiveness.
  • May serve on faculty committees concerned with matters such as budgets, curriculum revision, staffing, and course and diploma requirements.
  • Conduct course and program evaluation or review to ensure that they are meeting the needs of students and the community.
  • Deliver lectures and presentations to students and provide opportunities for discussion and engagement.
  • Lead discussion groups and seminars to facilitate learning and critical thinking.
  • Provide assistance to students with special needs and ensure that they have equal access to education.
  • Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and laboratory, shop, and field studies.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
  • Work setting: College or university educational institution/establishment.
  • Supervision: 16-20 people or more than 20 people.
  • Target audience: Adults.
  • Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office, Adobe Photoshop.
  • Area of specialization: Acupuncture, Chinese medicine.
  • Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available.
