Job Summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a skilled Gas Fitter Instructor to join our team in a contract position. As a Gas Fitter Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in the Plumbing or Steamfitter trade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction to students in the Plumbing or Steamfitter trade, focusing on gas fitting skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and industry partners.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in gas fitting.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson in the Plumbing or Steamfitter trade (Red Seal).
  • Commercial (general) gasfitters license for Saskatchewan (active).
  • Five years recent/relevant post-Journeyperson experience as a Gasfitter mechanic.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Effective computer skills to navigate online delivery platforms used by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development and writing to serve within an online format.
