Job Summary

MERIDIAN MARINE INDUSTRIES INC is seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of welding and fabrication work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welding and Fabrication: Interpret welding process specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Quality Control: Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in welding and fabrication or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a physically demanding job that requires handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
