We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Event Manager to join our team at Marriott International. Key Responsibilities- Coordinate event logistics and operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups, identifying operational challenges and developing alternative solutions.
- Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process, participating in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process as necessary.
- Deliver excellent customer service, empowering employees to provide exceptional service and setting a positive example for guest relations.
- Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through the post-event phase, following up with customers and responding to guest problems and complaints.
- Lead formal pre-event and post-event meetings, facilitating various meetings as necessary, and conducting bill reviews with clients prior to processing the final bill.
- Assist in the sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups, up-selling products and services throughout the event process.
- Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue, conducting human resources activities, and performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- High school diploma or GED, with 2-5 years of experience in event management or a related professional area.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, with at least 1 year of experience in event management or a related professional area.
