Attributes of a Successful Candidate:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in crafting press releases, reports, and complex presentation materials for diverse audiences, including employees, members, media, and governmental entities.
  • Background in public policy, research, or legislative environments.
  • Familiarity with the small business sector and its significance in the Canadian economy, coupled with an interest in government relations and public policy. Preference will be given to candidates knowledgeable about the political and small business landscape in Alberta and/or western Canada.
  • Robust analytical and research capabilities to influence the organization's Legislative Affairs agenda.
  • Dedication to precision and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet software, and graphic design tools.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with cross-functional colleagues.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in interactions to uphold the professional image of the organization.
  • Experience in media relations is considered an asset.
