Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary
As a Mental Health Specialist at McLean Hospital, you will provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets.
- Establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Identifying patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations and utilizing non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate them.
- Participating in planning and implementation of patient groups.
- Conducting active milieu assessments while assigned to checks, particularly attuned to safety concerns.
- Assisting patients with their activities of daily living.
