Job Title: Contractors Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Contractors Estimator to join our team at Noront Steel (1981) Limited. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to analyze project data
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure project profitability
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy in estimates
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years or more of experience in estimating, construction, or a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
