The successful candidate will oversee the entire grain plant operation, ensuring efficient production, storage, and distribution of pulse products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily plant activities, including receiving, grading, production, storage, and shipping.
  • Monitor and control inventory to guarantee accurate and timely distribution.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate shipments.
Team Management:
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of employees, including operators, maintenance staff, and general laborers.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to enhance team performance and motivation.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
  • Stay informed on industry regulations and environmental standards to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and conduct safety training programs and regular safety meetings.
Maintenance and Equipment Management:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities to optimize operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Establish and manage preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life.
Quality Assurance:
  • Work with quality control teams to ensure grains meet quality standards.
  • Develop and enforce procedures for grain sampling, testing, and quality assurance.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in grain elevator operations or similar agricultural processing environments.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in the agricultural sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing operational needs.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks related to grain handling and facility upkeep.
