Position Summary:

We are seeking a Project Controls Lead (PCL) to oversee our Project Controls Team, which includes Project Controls Specialists and Project Coordinators. The PCL will ensure the quality and effectiveness of project controls governance, processes, tools, and metrics within the Project Management Organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedures, tools, and best practices for effective management of the company's project portfolio.
  • Guide the PMO team to ensure compliance with project controls requirements.
  • Delegate tasks to the Project Controls Team to establish and maintain robust project controls.
  • Provide accurate information to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive instructions support all PMO procedures.
  • Oversee resource forecasting at the portfolio level.
  • Enhance scheduling, earned-value management, change management, and risk management fundamentals.
  • Collaborate with the PMO Manager to assign specific project tasks to the Project Controls Team.
  • Engage in direct support of various projects and programs.
  • Consolidate information sources for reliable reporting across the portfolio.
  • Support departmental goals for effective project controls execution.
  • Empower PMO staff in creating and maintaining effective governance.
  • Assist in recruitment, development, and performance management of team members.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for governance and procedures.
  • Maintain strong relationships with management and colleagues.
  • Organize meetings to ensure clear communication and expectations.
  • Accountable for project data accuracy and performance metrics dissemination.
  • Report on departmental performance and resource needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in project controls within a project-based organization.
  • Proven expertise in project management fundamentals, including scheduling and budget controls.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in managing large data sets.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in data analytics and critical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of industry experience.
  • 10 years of project controls experience in a project-based environment.
  • 5 years of experience managing a Project Controls Team.
  • Familiarity with the nuclear energy sector.
  • Advanced skills in Oracle Primavera P6 and database management.
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining project controls.
