About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Technology Lead to join our team at Teck. As a key member of our environmental technology development projects, you will be responsible for providing technical consulting services to our sites and developing an environmental technology project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Environmental Leadership: Provide courageous safety leadership and adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  2. EHS Management System: Establish and promote the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management System and EHS policies at off-site locations.
  3. Environmental Technology Projects: Advise on environmental technology projects through the project lifecycle and optimize selected solutions.
  4. Biogeochemical Research: Strategize, oversee, and implement sophisticated biogeochemical research necessary to advance the projects, using internal and external resources as needed.
  5. Technical Support: Provide technical support as an SME to multiple sites and project teams; facilitate regulatory reporting and support internal governance practices.
  6. External Networks: Engage with Teck's external networks to develop environmental solutions.
  7. Project Portfolio: Support the ongoing development of an environmental technology project portfolio.
Requirements
  1. Advanced Degree: Advanced Degree in chemical, process, bioprocess engineering, environmental engineering, or similar accreditation with proven experience.
  2. Experience: 5-7 years of experience in bioprocessing and its practical applications in an industrial context.
  3. Professional Registration: Registered Professional Engineer with EGBC, or eligible to become registered.
  4. Statistical Expertise: Proficient in statistical experimental design and conducting experiments to evaluate and enhance biogeochemical and bioprocess models.
  5. Project Management: Efficiently managing projects and logistics involving internal and external stakeholders, such as modeling groups, process engineers, consultants, and universities.

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
