Aecon Industrial is a leading industrial construction company seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Foreperson to join our team.

About the Role

  • As a General Foreperson, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction projects, in compliance with safety, quality, and human performance policies.
  • You will utilize project master schedules to create detailed look-ahead schedules for forecasting and planning, and assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets are in jeopardy.
  • You will plan and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project, including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools, and equipment, rentals, and work schedules.
  • You will assume responsibility for the efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project.
  • You will ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation, and owner-specified requirements.
  • You will ensure the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and project schedule and budget compliant.
  • You will interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc., as required.
  • You will ensure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines.
  • You will maintain appropriate field documentation, including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc.
  • You will ensure the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications/codes, and CITP's.
  • You will identify and support CITP and/or DCN revisions as necessary to support field work.
  • You will coordinate across all functions of the project as required to achieve task goals.
  • You will provide leadership to Field supervisors, Coordinators, and respective Craft Labor.
  • Other duties as required.

About You

  • You must possess a Carpenters Certification of Qualification or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • You must have a minimum of 5-10 years of construction supervision experience.
  • You must have experience with heavy civil formwork and concrete placement.
  • You must be able to successfully coordinate a construction project.
  • You must have knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • You must have good communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • You must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • You must have basic presentation skills.
  • You must have basic blueprint understanding.
