We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at ISL Engineering & Land Services. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for executing design engineering projects, managing workloads and schedules, and providing timely deliverables to project managers and larger design teams.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Electrical Lead to execute design engineering projects
- Manage workloads and schedules to provide timely deliverables to project managers and larger design teams
- Write relevant technical design reports and construction specifications
- Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and assist in preparing responses to requests for proposals
- Prepare design documents, including memoranda and reports
- Use ISL's Quality Management Plan to ensure quality deliverables are produced
- Follow established procedures for production of drawings and documents
- Prepare procurement documents, including specifications and cost estimates
- Coordinate tendering processes, supporting project managers and answering questions from contractors during tender periods
- Degree or diploma program in controls and instrumentation engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the preparation of detailed controls and instrumentation systems design in the water/wastewater consulting industry
- P.T. designation registration with APEGA (or eligibility to register)
- Experience in the application of electrical codes and standards, such as ISA and PIP
- Ability to work in an environment with conflicting deadlines and prioritize deliveries
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong familiarity with design tools, such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, and Bluebeam (PDF), as well as design collaboration tools, such as BIM and Autodesk Construction Cloud or related
- Power systems design experience
- PLC programming and systems integration experience
- Experience with 3D building information management (BIM) design platforms, Revit, and Autodesk Plant 3D
