Director of Music and Organist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Music and Organist to join our team at Musica Sacra. As a key member of our music ministry, you will be responsible for leading our SATB choir and providing music for our liturgies and special feasts.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in organ or choral conducting, as well as significant experience in leading choirs and directing music for liturgical services. You will be expected to plan and implement music programs that are in line with the Roman liturgy and to work collaboratively with our clergy and other staff members.

The organ at our church is a beautiful four-manual Casavant built in 1929, and we are looking for someone who is skilled in its use and can help us to maintain its high level of quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SATB choir in rehearsals and performances
  • Provide music for liturgies and special feasts
  • Plan and implement music programs in line with the Roman liturgy
  • Collaborate with clergy and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and meaningful worship experience

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in organ or choral conducting
  • Significant experience in leading choirs and directing music for liturgical services
  • Strong knowledge of the Roman liturgy and its musical traditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
