Position Overview:

The Cost Estimator plays a crucial role in processing quotations, logging essential details, communicating updates, and managing all relevant information related to the estimating function. This position reports directly to the Director of Cost Estimating.

Key Responsibilities include:

Inputting customer RFQs into the quote tracking system. Communicating and reviewing quote/no quote decisions with the appropriate sales management. Ensuring the completion of RFQ packages and distributing them to relevant personnel. Setting and monitoring target dates in collaboration with the Sales team. Supporting manufacturing personnel with additional information for RFQ packages to ensure accuracy. Collecting internal cost data from various plants. Ensuring all quotes from divisions are comprehensive. Delivering executive summary sheets for approval to the Sales Management Team and at least one executive member. Distributing the quote master sheet to the Sales Department upon approval. Notifying division personnel of quote acceptance or non-acceptance. Tracking engineering changes to keep Program Management informed. Maintaining a database management system to include business not received and the status of all current and past quotes. Ensuring all quote files are current and accurate. Updating customer requirements and quote standards regularly. Completing necessary calculations for executive review. Supporting Program Managers during customer technical review meetings as needed. Assisting with pricing issues related to tooling and piece prices. Helping to maintain and utilize internal/customer portals effectively. Submitting customer responses for pricing in a timely manner. Ensuring accuracy of quarterly exchange rate changes and material costs for production parts. Regularly interacting with respective customers. Preparing paperwork for and attending necessary meetings. Ensuring timely turnaround of quotes to customers. Suggesting and implementing new systems to enhance the quoting process.

Minimum Education/Designation Requirements:

A secondary school diploma or equivalent is required, with preference for candidates who have completed a College/University program in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an Estimator, specifically in quoting plastic component parts. Experience in reading blueprints and understanding state requirements is essential. Proven project management skills and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word are required. Experience in CAD, tooling, gauging, and paint & assembly is considered an asset.

Other Requirements:

An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
