Key Responsibilities:

  • The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing crew activities, assigning tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures. Key duties include:
    • Implementing directives from site management
    • Maintaining daily log books
    • Providing daily safety and operational instructions to crew members
    • Ensuring crew members are adequately trained for equipment operation
    • Coordinating with the Safety Coordinator for necessary training
    • Assisting in work scheduling and adapting to changes in site conditions
    • Ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and scheduling repairs as needed
    • Completing progress and incident reports as required
    • Upholding safety standards in accordance with regulations and company policies
    • Conducting daily pre-shift safety meetings
    • Inspecting underground areas to ensure safety and compliance with design specifications
    • Assigning tasks to crew members and monitoring their progress
    • Tracking and reporting daily, weekly, and monthly progress to site management
    • Utilizing various mining and construction equipment
    • Performing installations of necessary infrastructure
    • Completing additional assigned duties as required

General Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local health and safety regulations
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Actively participate in the safety program
  • Report any damaged or unsafe equipment
  • Collaborate with crew members to achieve operational goals
  • Adhere to established procedures and work standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workplace
  • Utilize safety systems as per site management protocols

Qualifications:

  • Pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing
  • Criminal Record Check (if applicable)
  • Completion of Supervisory Common Core training
  • Completion of Basic Underground Common Core training
  • A minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role within construction
  • CWB certification is an asset

Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of WHMIS and safety protocols
  • Fall Arrest and Working at Heights training
  • First Aid Certification
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Ability to work collaboratively and multitask effectively
  • Strong prioritization skills to meet deadlines
